Milton Rail Line
There's a long black train
Coming down the line
Feeding off the souls that are lost and crying
Tails of sin only evil remains
Watch out brother for that long Black Train
- Josh Turner
In the early morning hours just as the sun reaches over the horizon the Milton rail line has a weird dreamy feel to it, if you keep your gaze to the east. Looking west from 5th line the suburban growth pretty much kills any romantic vision but east that's where its at. Soybean & corn crops line the north and south sides of the line and the fog that rises off the warming crops makes for a mystical ...

Pretty soon I will be so breathless from your photos I will have to find some oxygen. Would have never thought to try black and white. I hate the word "awesome", it is so overused; but it just fits this photo.

What appeals to me the most is the perspective and the myst, You really ride into the myst.

Wow, thank, I am surprised this photo resonated with people. I always worry that the rails into the horizon shot is old and worn out. The fog does make the shot, I just wish the power towers werent there. Thank you for stopping by all.
cheers
P.
PS SRP you're inflating my ego a bit much! ;)

Interesting...near the Hornby dip.
The trackage is not old,
'tis welded rail, high
speed track.
The Galt Sub has undergone numerous changes over the years. This was the stomping ground of steam locomotives up to 1968...
If you want similar views, drive west,
west of Campbellville to CP Guleph Junction. From there west to London
the galt Sub is single track with passing sidings, and it passes through
some very rural areas, where even more morning mists are visible.
Be warned, the freight trains really do move. You'll have less than a minute from when you hear the crossing signals before the train arrives, at current
track speeds.
