Missing You

"Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit. " - Peter Ustinov

Frantic, always running that mental list of things you will need with you on the trip. Europe ads the extra challenge of electricity converters and plug adapters to make even the simplest of gadgets work.

Camera, lenses, tri & monopods, chargers, CF cards, cleaners, laptop, cables, adapters...

I am going to miss this face more than she knows...

I like this portrait. You have taken it at f/22 which is a bit unusual for a portrait but I really like the sharpness. The background is soft so it doesn't compete with the subject. I also notice that you are de-saturating to go to a B&W photo rather than just converting it to a grayscale. You might tell the folks who enjoy reading you here why you took that route.

YIKES Dick, thanks for noticing the details flub. I am going to fix the times as it wasn't even close to f22, you'll notice I left the details from the last post.

I've heard a case for either or being better from a number of sites and photographers. I personaly perfer adjusting my own curves once the color is desaturated though I can't say this is the widely accepted best approach. Unlike the Fuji S3 the D70 has no BW mode. However at 16bit raw the shot should have enough tonal data to provide a nice BW no matter how you arrive at your final product. I think its a control thing. I hope that sufficiently answers you question.

Cheers,
