Trevor Hodgson at Bruce National Park. photographs of people, photographs of friends, photograph of Trevor Hodgson, posed photograph

Early Morning Portrait

"When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves." - William Arthur Ward

I have been cataloging my images in the brief and very rare moments of peace I've had this past month. I took this photograph of Trevor after we had hiked up to one of the highest points along the edges of the Georgian Bay to catch a sunrise that did not disappoint. I think this photograph captures Trevor with the best possible background behind him. The combination of earth, nature and the wide open sky lend themselves to the passion he has for flight and his willingness to always entertain a hike, bike ride or any connection to nature.

This photo is my favorite one from a quick study I did on that rock. I did a series with Trevor looking out at the water and then back at the land and though there are a few good shots I gravitated towards the one you see here.

Hi...visiting from Michele's today.
Your photos are spectacular! Took some time to browse around. The one of the ice cream cones is awesome. I sure hope you do this professionally. Your work is brilliant.

Carmi

The composition here is captivating. He seems to connect the disparate elements of land, sea and sky. Stunning.

Couldn't help but visit after Carmi's comment at Michele's...wow. I mean, really, wow. I can't begin to comment here. Incredible photos...incredible eye. I'll be back, even without dropping by Michele's first.

How psyched was I to see that Michele sent me here. fantastic shot as always.

I found all of these filters, lenses and such my father bought me for my Fuji FinePix S602. I see things that I know would make great photos, and my camera is ok, but I need to invest. You inspire me everytime!

Great photo, makes me think, "Damn! I wish I were your friend!"

And speaking of friends, if you have a second, we just put an ultra urgent Cher / Family Fued Survey up for one of ours (it's for a good cause) and we need participants.Visit lam(b)'s post to find out what I'm talking about.

Michele sent me, but I'll be back of my own accord.

Here in a round about way from Michele's tonight. Decided to be bad and blog from work for a little bit and visited a few people above me at the meet and greet and there you were, but you know I'm always around. Great photo of Trevor! I have no clue how to photograph people but looks like you have it down. There is alot of character to this shot. Another great one Paul!

This photo is really nice. I love black and whites, and I love them with deep contrasts. I'll stick around some more to look at your work.... Great pic!

Here on my own.
I remember the sunrise picture. What a desktop that would make. Hint. Hint.
Great portrait too.

I was thinking that most of the time, when I see photos of rocky cliffs, the person in the photo always seems small and insignifcant in comparision.
In this photo, Trevor just seems larger than life. Stunning shot!
