Boy & Jellyfish
"Can ye fathom the ocean, dark and deep, where the mighty waves and the grandeur sweep?" - Fanny Crosby
We visited the Boston Aquarium during our stay. I have to say I pined to have the job of the scuba divers who busied themselves with fish feeding, tank cleaning and up-keep duties in the main tank. 520 hours a year of water time is logged by each diver. That works out to something like 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.
This is not an impressive shot and not the shot of the jellies I planed on sharing. However I like something about the little boy observing the jelly fish as they performed their aquabatic (my new word) display while bathed in the glow of a blue back light.
Things I would have done different? Well, I would have paid attention to the reflection off the glass to the right of the boys silhouette for starters. Also, this shot should have been taken while crouched and not standing.

Well I think it's a great shot, As Is! Seriously...I don't see anything wrong with this picture, at all!
Here from Michele this morning! Happy to see this photograph, I might add.

I thought this must be the monterey bay aquarium because the jellies look so cool. But nope, it's MY aquarium in Boston, which is so teeny compared to Monterey Bay.
I think this is a great photo. I like the sillouette of the boy against the blue glass.
One of my former coworkers is a diver in the shark tank. She used to be a penguin wrangler, but she graduated up to the shark tank. They're mostly volunteers, you know.

Nothing wrong with this picture at all. I like the little bit of light on the back of his neck and ear.

You're right, it could maybe have done with a change of angle, but it's still a great shot, the quality of the blue is amazing.

I've always wanted to visit one of these aquariums (?) but fear of sharks since the movie keeps me away. didn't know you were allowed to use your camera! doesn't it scare the fishies? it's such a wonderful colour in the shot, too bad that orange is there :/ I would have wanted it gone
