Art Is Intoxicating
"My mother said to me, "If you become a soldier, you'll be a general; if you become a monk, you'll end up as the Pope." Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso" - Pablo Picasso
I enjoy art, I can appreciate the technique, skill and creativity that went into a piece. After all I''ve done the watercolor, gouache and acrylic work needed for a graphic artist ( I just dated myself with that statement ), I understand the misery in capturing something as superficial as a reflection in a glass can cause hours of frustration if perfection is your goal. However I can't stand in front of a piece, photograph, sculpture or canvas, and stare at it for the better part of a half hour and maintain focus or de-construct its deeper meaning. Maybe it's the ADD talking, maybe I need to open my mind up or maybe I'm just not strange enough to be a true artist...

it's amazing how a piece of art can hold a strangers attention as if he was the only one in the room.
