Mushroom Fall
"Nature alone is antique and the oldest art a mushroom." - Thomas Carlyle
My mom says it's in the Czech blood this mushroom thing. I don't particularly like mushrooms as a food source however there is something exciting about finding some and bring them home. I guess its some foraging gene that lays dormant in the hearts of some of us. This is a photograph of mom smiling as she prepares a wild mature puff ball for breading and frying. A few potatoes and some tartar sauce later and you've got a pretty good meal on your hands...

Lovely picture of your mom, I'm sure she is proud of you.
Knowing nothing about mushrooms, how do you know for sure you are picking the right kind, not poisonous.

That mushroom right there was at the limit for the edible size. You usualy want to get your hands on them when they are a little smaller and firmer. That size is pretty common though. The little puff balls tend to make for better eats.
cheers
