I guess I wouldn't have my sensibilities offended were it not for Canada's clearly abundant natural resources and endless boreal forests, or the fact that the majority of trails are maintained by local volunteers and clubs, or the fact that part of my tax dollar is supposed to already go towards this. No, ours is a nation where an hours drive out of a major metropolitan area leaves you in the thick of trees and lakes and most likely on a dirt road, where, should you be brave enough to get out of your car, you can dance around like a fool swatting mosquito's and black flies to your hearts content.
Morning sunshine floods the forest from the east, translucent leaves glow against a shadowed forest backdrop, giving the our walk a surreal atmosphere.
