Rattle Snake Point, Halton, Ontario, Canada

Hiking the Point - part 1

"It is in man's heart that the life of nature's spectacle exists; to see it, one must feel it." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

In silent protest we quietly made our way past the clearly marked edge of the conservation area. Something to the effect of "this is not a legitimate entrance" was nailed and bound in red to an old willow tree that provided shade from the early morning sun. I've hiked these trails since my teenage years and in the past half decade the local government body has seen fit to explore every avenue of profit, even the woods have parking meters.

A branch proudly presents its fresh new foliage to the morning sun. The lucky ones hang over the cliffs edge where competition for space and light is minimal.
