Sailboats New York City
" There is a Japanese proverb that literally goes 'Raise the sail with your stronger hand,' meaning you must go after the opportunities that arise in life that you are best equipped to do. " - Soichiro Honda
We enjoyed watching the small RC sailboats make their way across a small man-made pond in central park. Tourists, much like us, passed by and their different languages and accents blended into the background. This photograph was taken when one of the model sailboats passed by closer then most.
I spent a total of five hours in New York City that day and succeeded in buying a 2x teleconverter and visiting Central Park for almost three of those hours so photography options were taken on the run. I would like to go back and shoot more much like SRP of Mélange recently had a chance to. You should check her blog out.

We didn't spend time in Central Park this trip.
But, in Brooklyn there is Prospect Park; not as large as Central Park but very family oriented. Lots of bridges, underpasses, bike paths, horseback riding, paddleboats, hiking trails, and large enough for my old muscles and bones to get a real work-out. It is directly across from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden which is an absolute MUST see for photographers. I would like to go back in the spring with the tulips, daffodils, and cherry blossoms in bloom. I took over 600 pictures.... so it will take a while to post. My favorite waterlily is up today.
