Woods Aflame
"A woodland in full color is awesome as a forest fire, in magnitude at least, but a single tree is like a dancing tongue of flame to warm the heart. " - Hal Borland
The forests have been on fire this last week. Bright yellow orange leaves, thin as rice paper and nearing their last days on the branch have colored the hiking trails golden brown. With the sun ever lower on the horizon the forests foliage has taken on a stained glass window transparency and made November a little more palpable.

Cuddle Weather
Scoops of bright orange and lemon sherbet
Piled high on flaky, bark waffle cones
Melt slowly in the rays of a sleepy sun
Sweet drops roll down
Leaving puddles of color and lakes of leaves
On plush, green, earthen carpet.
Creamy swirls of dying summer warmth and winter's coming chill
Flow through loose locks
Slip down smile slopes
Urging light jacket and toboggan
Quickly home
For November is cuddle weather.
