Photograph of a Sharp-leaved Goldenrod that blooms in late summer through to late fall

Sharp-leaved Goldenrod

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change." - Buddha

Taking advantage of a ray of sunlight coming through the thinning forest canopy I took a shot that almost has a studio feel. It took a few minutes to locate the perfect break of light and an area of shadow behind it. I also set the curves in the camera to yield me a high contrast result.

The only post processing is a color saturation boost of on screen display and some burning along the upper edges.

It's a Sharp-leaved Goldenrod that blooms in late summer through to late fall and, perennial and supposedly a threatened species. You couldn't tell by the area I was hiking.

Goldenrod by any species name just loves to wreck havoc with my sinuses..... fortunately, this picture does not. Absolutely lovely.

Oh, yes. Thanks for the beautiful desktops. I have the puff balls installed right now.

SRP, I didn't know people had Goldenrod allergies. This time of year ragweed seems to dominate any allergy discussion or pollen count that I never concidered other fall flowers even though it clearly makes sense.

If it makes you feel any better I suffer from vicious grass allergies in the spring.

I will be adding more flower desktops this evening.

cheers,
