Monarch Butterfly
"Know thyself! A maxim as pernicious as it is ugly. Whoever observes himself arrests his own development. A caterpillar who wanted to know itself well would never become a butterfly." - Andre Gide
Monarch butterfly resting, perhaps feeding, on a stalk of flowers.
Still working my way through the hundreds of Ribfest photographs.

How gorgeous! I love the green background, against which the oranges seem to pop!

That is beautiful. The back lighting is perfect to illuminate the wings.

Your butterfly photos are so beautiful.
I played with my old Nikon, the shutter speed and f-stop. IT was fascinating. Now I have to get out the manual for my little Canon and see if there really is a true manual setting for it as well.
