macro photograph of young puff-ball mushrooms. moss, plants, composition, Nikon D70, 28-105mm

Micro Metropolis

"Believe Big. The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief. Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. Remember this, too! Big ideas and big plans are often easier - certainly no more difficult - than small ideas and small plans." - David Joseph Schwartz

I have been experimenting with the micro-metropoly' that occupy the old stumps and rotting logs around the local woods. Right now the biggest challenge is composing the shot using tripods and heads as what ever you see in the view finder will shift ever so slightly when you lock down the head and that will completely throw off the composition.

Its fun and its dirty and you shouldn't wear your best clothing but it affords you a look into a world that usually lives out its day to day moments unobserved.

This shot is a composition of immature puff-ball mushrooms, green moss like plants and a sleeping snail hiding off to the right.

I really love the soothing colors of this shot. And those little puffballs...ah, there's a fungus among us. :)

I love it, Paul. It looks like a "honey, I shrunk the kids" set.
