Fresh Rain

" And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow. " - Gilbert K. Chesterton

Something neat about the way rain drops pool on plants after a light rain. Also there is something about the way the rain seems to pull certain colors, more specifically greens out of the surrounding area. Harsh lighting with which usually results in strong contrasts gives way to diffused ambient lighting and the details just seem to surface. The only draw back is that most photographic equipment isn't partial to rain and patience can wear thing when you feel damp and the drops tickle down your back.

These leaves are from a plant that was just sitting in the back yard as I tried to draw up some desire to go shoot. It has been raining or threatening to rain on and off for almost a week. Benefits are a greener fresher world and draw backs include fresh nesting grounds for mosquitoes, black flies and more time mowing the lawn.

It has been a while since I have provided a new photograph as a desktop so do enjoy the spring details of life.

Good to see you around. Yeah we drag it out as soon as the temps hover several degrees north of 0C (32F) over night. Seems to do it enough good that it blooms beautifully in winter. Are we doing something wrong?

Cheers,

P.
