A butterfly photographed with my 28-105mm Nikon lens

Delicately Perched

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly. " - R. Buckminster Fuller

January is now far enough gone for me to say this much. The experts say that we've had temps 10 degrees north of where they should be and I went jogging today in a t-shirt and enjoyed it. Considering that I remember a cracked dashboard on a friends Jetta from temperatures the dipped south of minus 30, I'd say I'm grinning.

A butterfly photographed with my 28-105mm Nikkor lens at the butterfly conservatory last summer. A friend of mine is getting married this summer and wants me to shoot him and his fiance for their invitations. I'm thinking the conservatory might be neat.

Michele sent me, Paul.

I need to add you to my list of blogs to visit. You have such great photographs here. I looked back 8 photos on your blog and just loved several of them. There's something so beautiful about snow and that picture of the house nestled in it's white blanket was lovely. Yesterday's cat picture was great also and the one today of the butterfly. The elephant eye was interesting!

Wow! What an amazing photo!

Yes, we're having that same really warm weather here in Wisconsin. I hate to say I'm enjoying it because I do like snow, but it's nice not to shovel or bundle up!

Your friend has great taste - in photographers and locales.

This picture snaps: it's almost as if the butterfly knows you're there. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it's so perfectly composed that it's difficult to imagine otherwise.

Fuller's quote completes the experience.

Wonderful, yet again.
