Sunset Through Fence

The beaver, which has come to represent Canada as the eagle does the United States and the lion Britain, is a flat-tailed, slow-witted, toothy rodent known to bite off it's own testicles or to stand under its own falling trees.
- June Callwood

The sky has been largely featureless in the mornings and evenings around here. This is the same fence post and about the same position as the shot posted a few days prior. The photograph itself was taken after that storm front had rolled through and the sun had begun to set.

I'm starting to find an enjoyment in shooting the simple rural surroundings. Though coming up with titles for these, not as much fun.

Wow, beautiful photo....very simple, rugged and yet elegant. Do you live in the prairies? We have visited Saskatoon and seen similar sights. Michelle sent me.

Paul, that's a beautiful photo --- Michele sent me too, or at least, she gave me directions.
I love the composition, the juxtaposition of the sky, clouds and fence, and the detail of the field which at first seems superfluous, then jumps out to the eye.

Oh, and thanks for posting the details of the shot (camera, lens, etc)! Helpful to us amateurs.
Where is Stewartown? I used to live in Waterloo, and don't recall the name....

Bob-kat

That is a lovely photo - the sky is so dramatic and really draws the eye accross the frame. Nice composition :)

I'll have to come back here though Michele sent me this time.

Hi again Paul -- I thought that this time Michele had sent me, but actually Moogie pipped me to the post. Still, Michele's directions still worked:-)

Thanks everyone and no, not in the prairies or the mid west just out here in Ontario which has it's own share of flat.

BreadBox, Stewartown is a small hole in the wall just west of Georgetown and south east of Acton. It's just a couple of houses and an intersection.

Cheers,

P.
