photograph of the sun almost behind the horizon at sunset.

Sunset over Limehouse

"How fine has the day been! how bright was the sun, How lovely and joyful the course that he run! Though he rose in a mist when his race he begun, And there followed some droppings of rain: But now the fair traveler's come to the west, His rays are all gold, and his beauties are best; He paints the skies gay as he sinks to his rest, And foretells a bright rising again. " - Isaac Watts

I took the sunsets for granted throughout the summer months as magnificence had become standard fare in the evening hours. Now that the sky has been overcast rather regularly I've realized I should have been out there shooting as much as possible.

This photograph of the sun almost behind the horizon at sunset was taken a few days back while going for a walk. I liked how the clouds were stretched across the sky. This one is available as a desktop.

In 36 hours I will be almost above the European continent.
