On the way to Sarnia
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." - Unknown
We went up the night before for a quick cross country flight that followed the shore line of Lake Ontario. I was hoping to get some shots of the city and test out the Fuji's ability to perform at 1600 ISO but a dying battery - my fault I got distracted at home - and strong cross winds put an end to that. Regardless, I couldn't change the situation so I tried to change my attitude and enjoyed spiral turns over the reaching skyscrapers of Toronto before heading home.
The photograph is of one of the many quarries that dot the Ontario landscape. You can make out details of the aggregate process. This was shot back in August of 2004 on a flight to Sarnia.

I went through Sarnia with my parents in 1957, on our way across Ontario to Niagara Falls.

I'll never look out the window of an Air Canada Jazz flight the same way again. Gorgeous...
