Paris to Ancaster Leaders
[T]he bicycle is the most efficient machine ever created: Converting calories into gas, a bicycle gets the equivalent of three thousand miles per gallon. - Bill Strickland,
The Quotable Cyclist
Ryan Trant, Tara Ross and Dave Scott round the corner off of a dirt road and back unto a paved portion of the course. These were the 60k riders near the front of the pack and the subjects who I consistently kept pace with and kept shooting.
As mentioned yesterday, I was a tag along to Lyne Bessets team and their focus was on her. Looking back it wasn't the optimal opportunity to take the shots I wanted but it gave me a crash course in both the route the racers take (confusing as all heck) and how quickly these athletes move. Had I been on my own I know I would have grossly underestimated their ability to power through the race.
All in all, I'm better prepared for next year...

My sister-in-law who lives in Spokane, WA is a real avid bicyclist. I will forward your page to her as I am sure she will enjoy seeing this. I especially like the way you have tilted the viewpoint. It is a very good use of the full frame and really draws the eye of the beholder into the action. Good job.

Nice photo--but it looks like the biker is about to fall on you! Either you're very good with perspective, or just very brave. :)
